About Us

Our company was established under the name of Polat İnşaat (Polat Constuction) in 1950 by Fahrettin POLAT and worked mainly in the construction of Kars-Sarıkamış railway line as a newly established company. In 1981, Fahrettin POLAT was succeeded by Alaattin POLAT, Civil Engineer, under whose direction the company undertook works in the projects of TEKEL (General Directorate of Monopolies), DLH (General Directorate of Railway, Port and Airport Construction) and several municipalities, and other public and private projects. The company was transformed from sole proprietorship to a limited liability corporation under the name of POLAT İNŞAAT MÜHENDİSLİK VE TİC.LTD. ŞTİ. by Alaattin POLAT, Selahattin POLAT ve Ziyattin POLAT as founding partners in 1993. Alaattin POLAT handed over his position as managing partner to his son Hakan POLAT in 2014. Our company’s area of expertise is the planning and design of ports, and port construction organization, realization, control, and all related activities. Since our establishment to the day, we have accomplished several coastal structure projects and other types of projects for the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications; the Ministry of Environment and Urban Planning; the Ministry of Culture and Tourism; several municipalities and private companies. We realized the archaeological excavations works in Yenikapı, Sirkeci and Üsküdar, a project spanning 8 years, within the framework of the Marmaray Project which constitutes an important part of Istanbul’s urban transportation network.
